Automotive Training Center: Built for Success

Through collaboration with industry, Central Community College has prioritized the construction of a new facility for the Automotive and Auto Body programs on the Hastings Campus. As a result, this is the largest capital investment in the five-year master facilities plan. The new building will be approximately 42,000 square feet. The Automotive Technology lab will have 16 automotive stalls, 2 alignment stalls, a wash bay and equipment storage. The center of the building will have a lobby & reception area, 5-classrooms, a welding lab, a parts and tools suite, oils and liquid storage, an Automotive program office, an Auto Body program office and restrooms. The Auto Body Technology lab will have 17-Auto Body Stalls, an enclosed paint booth, a wash bay and equipment storage.

New 42,000 sq. ft. space, replacing 80-year-old facility

The current automotive careers facility was built in 1943 as a transportation shop serving the Naval Ammunition Depot. In 1966, the building was renovated for classrooms and lab space for the college’s Automotive and Auto Body programs. Improvements and upgrades were made over the years.
